Booking is now open for the Buckinghamshire SEND IAS’s first Preparing for Adulthood conference at Stoke Mandeville Stadium on Wednesday 22nd November.

The aim is to equip parents/carers with the information they need to ensure their son or daughter with special educational needs and/or disabilities achieves the best possible educational and other outcomes. The conference will also be useful for relevant professionals.

The morning will be led by Melinda Nettleton and Hayley Mason from SEN Legal Ltd and will focus on the law around preparing for adulthood, including transition to adult services, joined up provision via an EHC plan, mental capacity, deputyship and power of attorney.

The afternoon will consist of a series of short talks by specialists on local education, health and social care provision for young people post 16.  The day will conclude with an opportunity for you to have your questions answered by a panel of experts.  You will be able to meet local providers during  the morning and lunchtime breaks.  A simple buffet lunch will be provided.
