Being Heard

It can be difficult finding your way through the health and social care system, especially for the first time. We hope that with our help and the experience of other Carers we can make this journey a little easier. We will contact people and professionals on your behalf and help you to make your voice heard, should you require us to do so.

If we feel that you require a greater level of support we can refer you to an organisation that specialises in advocacy, which may be able to take on your case and work with you to resolve your issues.

Useful Organisations

Age Concern Buckinghamshire - runs an advocacy service for older people. They have trained, independent, volunteer advocates who can visit you at home to discuss your issues and support you to deal with them. They also have advocates who visit residential care homes to support people on a group or individual basis, as well as an advocate working with mental health patients in hospital. Contact 01296 431911.

Aylesbury Vale Advocates - advocacy service provided within the Vale of Aylesbury for adults, 18 or over with mental health issues, learning difficulties / disabilities or limited communication skills. Contact 01296 432313.

People's Voices - a voluntary organisation working in Bucks and Milton Keynes providing an advocacy service for people with learning difficulties, physical disabilities, sensory impairment, mental health service users and older people. Contact 0845 241 0986.
