Parent Carers

A parent carer is someone over the age of 18 who is looking after a child or young person with an illness, disability, or additional need, for whom they have parental responsibility.

You may also find this page useful if you are a grandparent, other relative or family friend looking after a child with an illness, disability or additional need for whom you don’t have parental responsibility.

Our Carer Information and Support Groups are open to all carers over the age of 18 who are registered with Carers Bucks. For more information, please see Carer Information and Support Groups.

We have collated some links to organisations that we hope you will find helpful. Some are Buckinghamshire-based, and some are national organisations. This is not an exhaustive list, so if there are other resources that you feel would be useful to share, please do let us know. Please note that Carers Bucks doesn’t accept responsibility for the content of any external organisations.
