Pledge your support to the Dignity in Bucks Campaign
If you believe being treated with dignity is a basic human right then pledge your support today to the Dignity in Bucks campaign.
The Dignity in Bucks campaign is for everyone, whether caring for a relative, friend, a professional involved in purchasing care services, safeguarding or working in a caring role in an organisation, or for individuals who simply believe that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect. To pledge your support email dignity@buckscc.gov.uk and simply put Dignity in the subject line. The Dignity in Bucks campaign is led by the Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Board and is part of a national campaign by the Department of Health. Their aim is for zero tolerance of abuse and to treat every individual with dignity and respect.
10,000 Feet Sky Dive for Young Carers
Hattie Collison, who works in our Young Carers' team, is diving 10,000 feet from a plane in order to raise £400. This is why:
"I work with a group of young people called "Young Carers". They are an amazing bunch who need to care for their parents or siblings due to terminal illness, mental health, disabilities or substance missuse.
I have arranged a fundraiser which means I have to do a Sky dive on 10th March 2012!
I have to raise at least £400 to enable me to do this and so that the charity I work for Carers Bucks make some money out of it.
The money you donate will be put towards supporting Young Carers to do things that they would not usually do. This can be anything from Go Karting to climbing mountains in Morocco."
