Help from Social Services

Many Carers struggle with their role and do not know that help is available to them. Having some outside help can make a great deal of difference and relieve some of the stresses and strains of caring. It is important that Carers take care of themselves, have regular breaks and take time to relax.

Buckinghamshire Social Services (Adult Social Care) may be able to help you and the person you care for. They can assess your situation and offer appropriate support. The person you care for can be assessed for their care needs and you, as a Carer, also have the right to an assessment of your needs.

At the moment Bucks County Council (Adult Social Care) can only offer support to those whose needs they assess to be critical or substantial. There may also be a charge for any services that are offered depending on a financial assessment of the person you care for.

If you are having problems getting an assessment for you or the person you care for contact Carers Bucks.
